Why Soft Skills for Kids?

In today's world of incessant distractions, children's ability to concentrate is becoming increasingly precious.

Did you know?
A child's maximum concentration time increases with age: 15 minutes around the age of four, 20 minutes around the age of five, 30 minutes around the age of seven, 40 minutes by the age of ten.

Concentration is a major mental effort for children. Don't worry if you feel your child can't settle down. He'll develop his concentration bit by bit.

What are the benefits of concentration?
- Improved self-esteem because you feel capable.
- A feeling of well-being and clarity of mind.
- Increased learning capacity.

But what are the ways of increasing a kid's concentration?

It's a learning process, so support him with short activities lasting from 5 to 30 minutes, where he can learn to concentrate by increasing the time each time.

Here are a few tips:

👉🏻Diminuez distractions: settle into a quiet, orderly place to do the activity.
E.g.: Dining room table, tidy room, desk.

👉🏻Donnez motivate them by offering activities they enjoy.
E.g. coloring, puzzles, drawing, building, reading, etc.

👉🏻Découpez tasks: break down the things that need to be done to complete a task into several tasks.
E.g.: Suggest that he only go around the puzzle, sort the Legos pieces or read 10 pages of his book.

👉🏻Give one explanation at a time: your child will be able to concentrate on a single piece of information.
Ex: Be as specific as possible. Do you want to color with red or blue?

👉🏻Surveillez sleep time: lack of sleep leads to a reduction in concentration time
Ex:
12 hours for a child aged 3 to 5, 11 hours for a child aged 5-6, 10 to 11 hours between ages 7 and 12.

👉🏻Proposez relaxation or breathing sessions.
E.g.: use the free tools of soft kids, cardiac coherence and sophrology.

There are many ways to improve concentration, you just need to find the one that works best for your child and start small... 😜
